Vaisakhi in the Park was another one of Aster360’s major events, fondly remembered to this day.
The event took place on Sunday, 13th April 2008, in West London. It was the largest Vaisakhi (Sikh New Year celebration) ever held in the UK.
Sponsored by Reliance India, the event attracted over 20,000 attendees, thanks to our successful marketing campaign. Even we were surprised to welcome coachloads of guests, some of whom had travelled from across Europe especially for the occasion.
Aster360 had lined up some of the best emerging talent, as well as globally renowned artists, including: Diljit Dosanjh, now one of the biggest Bhangra artists in the world, Mika Singh, celebrated Bollywood playback singer, Sudesh Lahri, world-renowned comedian, UK artists such as Hardcore (rapper featured in the film Gully Boy), Apache Indian, the first Indian rapper in the UK, regularly featured on Top of the Pops.
The event also featured the multi-award-winning Casbah Roadshow and the world-famous Asli Baharan Punjabi Diyan, who had the entire stage dancing with them with the beat of the drums, which was amplified by the audio and visuals of Papa Joe 100.
During this event we were privileged to host legendary footballers from Liverpool Football Club, including Bruce Grobbelaar, Glen Johnson, Ronnie Whelan, Michael Thomas, and Jimmy Case, who attended as guests of Mr. Ken Chana of Chana Chemist Due to Aster360’s leadership and success in delivering this landmark event, Liverpool Football Club took notice and invited us to organise events for their club. This led to our team organising a prestigious Charity football gala dinner on behalf of the Elite Academy of Football.
